As someone who didn't grow up eating healthy foods, I still sometimes find myself shocked to be doing this work. For the first 20-something years of my life, I ate nothing but garbage. Breakfast was a sugary cereal with skim milk, lunch was a bagel, pizza or frozen yogurt with reeces peanut butter cups, and dinner was likely pizza, pasta or restaurant food. And don't even get me started on snacks- it was all white cheddar cheese its and gushers. Yikes.

The reason I'm telling you all of this, is because I want you to know that I can meet you wherever you're at. If your diet is filled entirely with processed foods, and you have no idea how to cook, that is exactly where I was. If you're overwhelmed by all of the different diets, and books, and ways of eating, let's talk and find ways to simplify it all. If you've never liked the taste of healthy food, know that our tastes and preferences can change, and heathy food can and should taste delicious. Anyone can learn to cook, enjoy nourishing foods, and I love working with people to change their idea of healthy. Too many people view a healthy diet as something that is bland, boring and often feels like depravation. Together we will get you eating foods that not only serve you, your health goals and priorities, but foods that you look forward to eating.

It was actually a cooking class I took with a Nutritionist that let me to find Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition in Berkeley, California.. One simple cooking class that got me to taste new things, and things that were truly healthy. It blew my mind that I liked these foods, and that I could learn to cook them too. After completing the program at Bauman, I started my own business in San Francisco, and worked with individuals, groups and families all around the Bay Area from 2012-2017.

Now, as a certified Nutrition Consultant, I’ve finally made the connection between what I eat and how I feel. My studies have taught me not only the science of food, but the science of the body. Why so many people have compromised digestion, why food allergies are on the rise, why more and more couples are struggling with infertility, and why rates of diabetes and heart disease are rapidly increasing, with symptoms of both even being seen in children. I enjoy working with individuals and groups, using food as a tool to restore balance to the body, by lowering inflammation, and balancing both hormones and blood sugar, in order to lower the risk of heart disease and diabetes, and prevent disease.

Through diet, we are given the power, and the responsibility, to positively influence our health. What I find most exciting about nutrition, is that a few simple, easy and affordable changes can have a profound affect on how you feel. You can work on the cause of your health symptoms, and not just try to silence the symptoms. The more you take care of your body, through healthy diet and lifestyle choices, the better it will take care of you.

With all of this in mind, a few simple rules I live by:

  • No matter what, there is always room for Portillo’s.
  • Enjoying a nice meal with friends is always time and money well spent.
  • Small changes can lead to big things.
  • And remember, you’re doing the best you can.

Working with people, food and health is incredibly rewarding work that I love. The relationships and connection with clients like you truly nourishes me, and lets me continue doing work that I love. If you thrive on a personal connection, feeling cared for and supported every step of the way, let’s talk. There are so many ways we can work together, and I’ll meet you wherever you are at- if you’re currently eating only processed foods, or are considering a big shift to your diet. If you’ve recently been diagnosed with a new disease, or are hoping to begin caring for yourself for the first time in years, I’d love to get to be a part of this process.
